The NYC Chelsea Loft project came with a very high bar considering that Robert Mapplethorpe had his studio on the top floor.

To our advantage, the loft had some unique elevation changes starting with an elevator entry a half flight above the main level. Upon entry, you can survey all of the public spaces making it key for entertaining.

As with most lofts, light is shared from the front and the back but in our case, we had several windows along the side which gave us an opportunity for light and view in the Dining Area.

The color palette shifted to one where we highlighted the cherry wood with the deep blue paint of the steel columns and sprinkler system. A combination of gray stone and wood flooring completes the architectural finishes.

The furnishings are mostly modern employing oversized pieces in the Great Room and a round sectional in the Media Room.

Custom cabinetry is sprinkled throughout the space and detailed in a minimal manner.

At the rear of the apartment are three bedrooms all connecting to a terrace which creates an oasis.

The primary suite is rendered in grass cloth, wool and custom cabinetry in a two-tone hickory and oak.
